Facebook

1 – Share your post on your business page

Make sure your post is optimised for Facebook with a wide featured image and a title and description.

You can do this in your Yoast SEO plugin by changing the social settings.

2 – Joining a group and posting a link on promotion days
There are lots of Facebook groups dedicated to blogging and some of them have specific days in which you can promote your latest blog post.

Check out my Facebook group recommendations for bloggers.

3 – Ask friends to share
Get your social shares started as soon as you post your content and have a selection of your friends share your blog post.

It works best if you get them to share directly from your business page because then you can boost your pages engagement while you’re at it!

4 – Facebook ads
This obviously costs money, so you should only do this with content you know will work well with advertising.

Posts with content upgrades have always worked best for me when purchasing Facebook ads.

Don’t waste your money boosting a post. Go into your Ads Manager and set up a properly targeted advert.

Here’s a beginners guide to Facebook Ads to get you started.

Instagram

5 – Post a video story
Promote your latest post by talking about it in a quick Instagram story video. You won’t be able to link to it directly in the story unless you have a certain amount of followers but you can tell people to head to your bio and pop the link to your new post in there.

You can also use an Instagram landing page in your bio where you can link to several posts and other social media accounts, such as Linktr.ee.

6 – Join a pod
An Instagram pod is a small group of ‘grammers in a direct message group chat who all like and comment on each others latest posts.

This is a good way of getting your engagement up quickly which helps you beat the Instagram algorithms.

If you’re promoting your newest blog content within your Instagram posts, then joining a pod can help you get increase your blog traffic quickly.

7 – Comment on 50 other Instagram accounts in your niche
Leave thoughtful, engaging comments on other accounts that aren’t already following you. Ask questions and get a conversation going.

Same as with Facebook Ads, this costs money but can increase blog traffic fast.

You can run an Instagram campaign alongside your Facebook Ads by connecting the two in your Facebook Ad Manager. Then you kill two birds with one stone.

9 – Send an email about your latest post
If you already have an email list, don’t assume they have seen your latest post just because they’ve subscribed to your list.

Send them an introduction or related story to the post with a link in the email.

You’re guaranteed to increase blog traffic fast with this.

SEO

12 – Targeting low competition keywords
If you want faster traffic from Search Engines, then targeting low competition keywords will get you ranking quicker.

SEO is generally a long term traffic builder but I’ve managed to rank super quickly with lower competition, long-tail keywords.

I find these keywords using Keywords Everywhere. It’s now a paid tool but it’s so cheap for how many keywords you get. $10 for 100,000 keywords is not a lot considering how much value it brings to your blog.

13 – Auditing old blog posts that are on page 2
Do you have any posts that are ranking low on page 1 of Google or even on page 2?

What are the blog posts like above you? Are they more relevant? Are they longer posts, with more information?

Go into your posts and improve them by updating information, adding text, removing broken links etc. And see if you can get your post to rank a bit higher.

A post on my mental health blog happened to be on the bottom of page 1 for a keyword I really wanted to rank for. I improved the overall optimisation of the post and within a few days it was at the top of page 1 and brought in a lot more traffic.

14 – Write a guest post
You could write a guest post for another publication. Link to your latest content within the post for some quick traffic and a grab backlink to your blog.

15 – Google ads
Another paid option but you could set up some Google Ads to get eyes on your new content.

Pinterest

Pinterest is my favourite tricks to increase blog traffic fast and if you’re lucky, your pins will go viral and keep bringing you traffic.

15 – Create new pins for old posts
You wouldn’t believe how quickly your pin design becomes outdated and irrelevant.

I often go through my old blog posts and update the pin design.

Having several pin images for one blog post will help you bring in more traffic anyway. I’d recommend creating at least 3 images per blog post and try changing up the wording on each of them for maximum impact.

16 – Join group boards
Get you latest blog post seen by more people by joining group boards relevant to your topic.

Find group boards using PinGroupie.

17 – Tailwind
I absolutely love this tool. I use Tailwind to schedule my pins between 50-80 times a day and it finds the best times to pin, so I don’t have to.

Its been responsible for a lot of my traffic and by using their tailwind tribes feature along side my scheduled pinning, I have pushed my traffic even further.

It’s also helped me get quick social shares for new posts unlike any other tool or platform I’ve used.

I hope these tricks to increase blog traffic fast were helpful.
